CHAIRPERSON'S FOREWORD
Hello and welcome to West Lothian Sports Council’s (WLSC) online resource for local organisations, clubs and individuals. For those of you new to our website and the Sports Council MEET THE BOARD .
WLSC is a local committee made up from a variety of sporting individuals on a voluntary basis. We act as a support network and an impartial voice for ALL affiliated sports clubs, organisations and individuals. It used to be the primary contact for all sports clubs, organisations and individuals within the sporting community of West Lothian. Later on West Lothian Council set up their Sports Development section which took over the majority of the WLSC’s remittance and we also saw the introduction of West Lothian Leisure. Since then, WLSC’s involvement within the community has been reduced however its importance is no less as now we work alongside the Sports Unit providing advice, funding and support for our local sports clubs, organisations and individuals.
MISSION STATEMENT
West Lothian Sports Council is the voluntary voice of sports clubs, organisations and individuals within West Lothian. We provide support, information and funding to all our affiliated members in an effort to enhance the provision of sport and increase the opportunities available to the ever growing population of our sporting community.
VISION STATEMENT
To encourage all clubs within West Lothian’s sporting community to join in an effort to unite and strengthen our member’s rights and opportunities, acting as a voice on their behalf and supporting clubs, organisations and individuals across the board.
