This event is organised by WL Sports Council in partnership with WLC and is shaped by Local Clubs, Coaches and Volunteers.
Look out for your invitation to register via the Eventbrite booking service
The Networking Night will build on last year’s theme 'Changes to the Sporting Landscape' with a new focus on what the future of sport looks like for West Lothian, particularly after the restructuring of Local Sports Services, with Key speakers from West Lothian Council, West Lothian Leisure and SportScotland invited to give their own take on the future of sport for the West Lothian Community. Time will then be set aside for a short Question & Answer session.
In the second half of the evening a presentation looking at financial support for sports clubs will take place where you can find out more about the SME Loan Scheme and how to apply! Hear directly from a local club whose application was successful and see what impact this has been having.
Then Learn about General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) - A primer for sports clubs will tell you what you need to know before changes on data protection come into play on 25th May 2018.
To finish the evening, guest speaker Neal Herbert from Scottish Disability Sport will look at what support is out there to help local clubs become more inclusive to athletes with disabilities.
Various stalls will be set up on the evening with information available on WLSC membership, Disability Sport, Funding Opportunities, Community Sports Hubs, Club Accreditation, Coach Education/CPD courses, Child Wellbeing and Protection. Breakout areas, networking and refreshment time will also be available throughout. Local clubs can chat and share information/experiences with each other and with representatives from WLSC, WLC Active Schools and Community Sport Team, Sportscotland and Scottish Disability Sport.
